HOW A PRIVATE WALK COMES TOGETHER

From your message to the map I send after.

Maybe you’re walking with kids, or parents, or friends who set off at different speeds. Maybe you’d rather hear it in French or Spanish. Maybe you simply don’t want to share the walk with strangers, or trail a flag through a free tour. This isn’t a scaled-up group tour — it’s a walk with no one on it but your group, and a route built around what you actually want to see.

01 · You tell me

You send me your date and tell me three things: how many of you, which language, and what you’re drawn to — food, history, family-friendly, or a bit of everything. I write back within 24 hours.

02 · I shape the route

I draw the walk around your focus and your pace — more stops and shorter legs for kids, more ground for those who like to keep moving, a slower amble if that’s what you want.

03 · The meeting

We meet by Ópera metro, on Plaza de Isabel II, at 10:00 or 15:00 — whichever we agreed. We talk the route through, and set off. Just your group.

04 · the local map

Two and a half hours at your pace, in your language. Before we part I tell you the places worth your own time, and the next morning I send them in writing.

Every stage shaped around your group — nothing off a shelf.

THE ROUTE

You choose the focus — I build the walk around it.

A private tour has no fixed stop list, because it isn’t fixed. You tell me what you came for, and I shape the route around it. Three ways people usually start:

Family-friendly

Shorter legs, more stops, and a pace set by the youngest walker. Built for families who want to see the centre together, without anyone wearing out.

Art & history

The Madrid behind the façades — palaces, plazas, and the corners where the city’s story turns. We read it from the street, not inside the monuments: the why, not the ticket queue.

A bit of everything

Not sure yet? Most groups aren’t. We mix a little of each and adjust as the walk goes — that’s the point of going private.

An open tour shows you my route. A private one shows you yours.

WHAT YOU GET · WHAT TO BRING

Your walking kit, your shoes, the small print.

WHAT TRAVELERS WROTE

Their words, not mine.

“I did the tour with five friends and we had a brilliant time. The guide was so friendly, walking us through the whole of Habsburg Madrid with the most curious anecdotes, and he had incredible patience adapting to our pace…”

— Patricia

“I have to say it was a unique experience. It wasn’t my first time visiting Madrid, yet the idea of taking this tour was brilliant. I saw corners of Madrid I’d never seen before and learned stories about this city…”

GOOD TO KNOW

The questions, before you ask them.

You send the form above — or write to me at [email protected] or WhatsApp at +34 625 795 526 — with your date, your group size, your language, and what you’d like to focus on. I write back within 24 hours to shape the route and confirm the time, 10:00 or 15:00. No payment now. The walk is yours — your pace, your stops.

Yes. Madrid walking tours in English are easy to find; one that’s yours alone, at your pace, and in French or Spanish if you’d rather, is not. I grew up between Madrid, Algiers, and Casablanca, so the three feel native — tell me which one when you write.

From four walkers up to eight — €25 per walker beyond the first four. Ask for your date in the form above. More than eight in your group? Write to [email protected] and I’ll arrange it.

Yes — this is where private works best. I keep the legs short, add stops, and set the pace around the youngest walker, so no one wears out.

That’s the whole idea. Tell me history, family-friendly, or a bit of everything, and I build the walk around it. Entry to monuments, churches, and museums isn’t included — every tour stays outdoors, in the streets and plazas.

Not any more — walking is private only, so the group is always yours. If you’d rather join an open tour, that’s the bike ride: in English, eight riders max, every day at 10:00 and 15:00. Either way, you get the same guide.

Madrid rarely rains for long, and if it does, I bring ponchos — we walk through it. If you need to cancel, it’s free up to 24 hours before the walk starts: full refund, minus the card processing fee if you had already paid (usually 2-3% of the total — the processor keeps it). Less than 24 hours before, or a no-show, and there’s no refund.
